- Elizabeth doesn't care what she has to do inorder to achieve her goals.
- Elizabeth is right, it doesn't matter who you are, as long as you have the mind to what you want to do, don't give up nor let other people get to you.
- The director of Philadelphia's almshouse is chauvinist; just because Elizabeth is a girl, he don't think its the right place for her to go to, to gain the experience to help him.
- The almshouse is mostly reccommend for men doctors.
- Like in chapter 1, Elizabeth and her dad does have a way to convince people.

- How come people were so chauvinist towards the female gender?
- Why did "the girl" lied about a gentleman doctor taking the chart away?
- Why didn't Elizabeth bust her?
- Why were the people in the hospital lost all their faith in living?

- Well this chapter is about how atfirst the director of Philadelphia's almshouse didn't want her to go to the almshouse, but she had convinced him to give her a chance and when she got there, she started nursing and convincing the sick to eat and drink their medicine, also I learned that she was very patience with the patients, also she has a great admiration; Dr. Nathan Dow Denedict, also Elizabeth is caring and gentle towards the patients, she even knows how to make a doll, even though it was hard for her, atleast she made one friend and after all this is done, a guy who was the most coldest towards her had came and apologize and said that she would one day become a very fine physician.

- Miss Walker lets people rent her house (she is nice).
- Dr.Elder gave even more confident, hope and encouragement in Elizabeth.
- The country boys were loud and don't know how to behave in a classroom.
- Elizabeth is another step closer to become what she wants to be; the first women doctor.
- Elizabeth gives me inspiration in what I want to do.

- Why didn't the women and men dislike Elizabeth?
- Why didn't anyone help her find the text books she needed for her classes?
- Why does she claps her hands when she enters the classroom?
- How can they accept her and she paid for her tutition then kick her out?

1overview sentence:
- This chapter is mainly about how she had to rent a room to live near her college so that she'll be able to attend the college, however the people who were also renting the house, disliked her, also the college had told her not to come back even though she had paid for her tutition because they claimed that it was uncomfortable to have a female in the same class as every other male, however, I know she isn't going to give up just yet, because she is a very stubborn girl when it comes to doing things that she believes is right.

-In my opinion, I don't think she should change for anyone.
-I believe that Elizabeth will make it.

-Why was she speaking quietly?
-Why was she returning differently?
-Where were there so many arguements?

-The men did not want her to go to that school because she is a girl and that she isn't going to give up on what she does, then later she finally made it to the Geneva College because of her non-stopping persistance.

-What inspired her to become a pyhsician even though it wasn't one of her choice?

-This chapter is about how Elizabeth's career is about to start, and what / how she has to do and with the help of her brothers, its making it less diffucult even though her dad had passed away but her brothers are still there for her, also Mr. James H. Perkins was even encouraging her to become a physician, just like her dad they are egalitarian, she became lonley too when her dad had passed away and it was hard for her, however her job is giving her a challenge which she enjoys so that should occupy her for a while.

-Aunt Barbara is chauvinist.
-Elizabeth is not like other girls, she is more determined in what she believes is right.
-Elizabeth's dad (Samuel Blackwell) is an equal person whose believes everyone deserves his or her rights.
-Though Elizabeth is not as smart as her sisters are and brothers are, she has confident, determination and energetic to do what she desires to do that is right.
-The workingmen was dissatisfied with their payments and long hours of work so therefore they had started a riot and had burned down the town halls and important buildings, also historic churches of the city which caused Elizabeth and her family to migrate to America.

-How come Aunt Barbara is chauvinist, yet her father isn't when they are related?
-Why didn't Samuel accepted the loan instead of having to leave their home and migrate to America?
